Policies

Or, should we say “Paw-licies?”

Welcome to Cozy Cat Resort, where we prioritize the well-being, comfort, and happiness of our feline guests! To ensure that every kitty has the best possible experience during their stay, we’ve carefully crafted a set of policies that outline our standards for care, safety, and cleanliness. These policies, which we kindly ask all pet parents to review and follow, help us maintain a harmonious and luxurious environment for every whiskered visitor. Rest assured that our expertly trained staff is dedicated to providing the highest level of care for your furry family members, so you can enjoy peace of mind while you’re away.

Disease Prevention

Cozy Cat Resort is committed to ensuring the safety of all its feline guests. Because of the infectious nature of illnesses such as respiratory viruses and parasites, CCR will have to cancel your reservation if a staff member suspects your cat exhibits symptoms of illness or a parasitic infestation at drop-off. If a staff member discovers after check in that your cat has parasites such as fleas or ticks, we will treat the cat as appropriate and add the treatment charges to the bill. If your cat has a chronic respiratory condition that can be confused with acute disease, we will ask for complete veterinary records before completing your reservation.

Vaccines

Because we don’t mix cats from different households and do everything possible to minimize exposure to disease among cats, Cozy Cat Resort only requires a current FVRCP vaccine (feline herpes, calici, panleukopenia). You’ll be required to provide veterinary proof of vaccination. CCR will accept medical waivers from your vet. CCR doesn’t require Rabies or FeLV since these diseases are not contagious without direct contact between cats. Because vaccines aren’t available for every communicable disease nor guarantee your cat will not become ill during their stay, treatment for any communicable disease will be your responsibility and at your expense.

Serious Illness

If your cat develops symptoms of any serious illness while you are away, we’ll transport your cat to either your veterinarian of choice (if available) or a veterinarian of our choosing, depending on the severity or suspected nature of the situation. We’ll make every reasonable attempt to contact you before transporting your cat, but both transportation and veterinary services will be at your expense. Cozy Cat Resort isn’t responsible for requirements for treatment policies, including those for treatment approval and payment, at any veterinarian office.

Medications

We will board elderly cats and those on medications, including subcutaneous fluids and insulin. Please ensure any medication you bring is appropriately labeled and not expired, and provide all the supplies for administering the medications or fluids. If your cat is too challenging to handle, please be advised that we’ll do our best not to put ourselves at risk of a bite injury.

Appetite and Voiding

If your cat doesn’t eat well while here, we reserve the right to offer different foods or use an appetite stimulant. Cozy Cat staff members also may treat mild vomiting or diarrhea as necessary since these are common stress responses in cats. The cost of medication and administering the medication for these purposes will be at the owner’s expense.

Food and Cat Litter

At or before arrival of each guest, Cozy Cat Resort requires the owners of guests to provide their own food in amounts sufficient for the entire reservation. Providing the food and any treats the whiskered guests expect minimizes stress and intestinal issues.

Cozy Cat Resort uses lightly scented, scoopable litter. If you prefer to provide your own litter, you are welcome to do so. Cozy Cat Resort doesn’t offer discounts for providing your food or litter.

Personal Items

Upon arrival, we’ll inventory your items, review any medications, go over your preferred feeding protocol, and discuss any concerns. Please understand that Cozy Cat Resort isn’t responsible for damaged or lost personal items, but we take precautions to avoid loss or damage to our guest’s property. Please ask in advance about bringing personal items such as bedding or toys, and use a permanent, washable method to identify these items if possible.
